— presented by Brown Girl Magazine, Inc., in collaboration with Dallas [Intuitive], and in partnership with Dil Mil and GIPHY — is an all-day experience that empowers individuals with access to influential South Asian networks, essential tools and critical knowledge they need to challenge the stigma behind creative aspirations and career paths.
Who is a SLASHIE?
Slashies are generally members of the millennial demographic, who choose to include various ‘side hustles’ in their professional titles but perhaps less lucrative pursuits to which they devote their time—in addition to their nine-to-fives.
The SLASHIE // Vision
We are a group of South Asian millennial content creators who seek to celebrate the “non-traditional” career paths and redefine professional success.
Our goal is to create a diverse, collaborative and safe space amongst creatives and enthusiasts who want to be a part of the South Asian movement.
We hope to inspire South Asians to develop a perspective within the creative conversation and pursue these passions regardless of cultural stigmas
The SLASHIE // Network
Open to South Asian millennials who have or want to quit their full-time jobs to pursue their side hustle wholeheartedly. Our summit does not limit those who wish to continue their 9-5 and creative passions simultaneously. Above all, the Slashie // Summit is an inclusive space that supports, stands with and enables all to pursue their dreams.
